— Step One —
BOOK YOUR SESSION
Once you've decided on which of the two session options best suits your needs all you need to do is fill in the booking form to start the process. I'll then be in touch to discuss potential dates etc. I'll also send you a questionnaire so I can get to know all about your very special soul mate. I shoot all days of the week and aim to shoot from mid afternoon onwards as that affords us the most opportunities with regards to good light. Sessions are unlimited with regards to time, but typically last a minimum of two hours.
— Step Two —
Choose a location
Choosing a suitable location is an important part of the process and heavily influences how your final photos will look. I'll work closely with you to make sure we choose the location that best suits your dog. Fortunately, Kent, Sussex and London offer a wealth of potential sites including beach, park, woodland and urban settings.
— Step Three —
Enjoy the shoot
The big day has finally come. This is not a studio shoot and as such we are not aiming to create perfection. I want your images to express your dog's unquestionable personality traits. The shoot will be extremely relaxed and the more comfortable and calm you are, the more your dog will act naturally and help us to produce authentic imagery. So, if they're misbehaving just embrace it and go with the flow. Above all, let's have fun. On completion of the session we'll agree a date for you to see the best images for the first time and choose your favourites. At the private viewing and ordering session you'll be able to see first-hand the album and fine art options available for your home.
— Step Four —
This is the point in the process that I really look forward to. Its the culmination of all the stages and seeing your favourite images in print for the first time suddenly makes the whole process very real and you'll have products that you'll fall in love with and that you'll cherish for years to come.
MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where is Vue.Dog based?
I'm based in Kent and cover Sussex, Kent and London. I'm also available throughout the UK and overseas, with the only restriction being any existing commitments.
Should my dog be groomed before the session?
This really is up to you. The sessions are outdoors, on location, so a beautifully groomed dog may not stay that way for long. In most cases a good brush over works wonders replacing the shine back in to coats and reducing matted hair.
My dog has to remain on a lead. Is this a problem?
No, not-at-all. In fact, the majority of dogs I photograph are kept on their leads. There are numerous techniques that can be employed during the shoot to reduce the impact leads have in the scene and if a lead is still visible at the post-production stage, I can digitally remove it.
What happens if it rains?
I will be keeping an eye out for any inclement weather. Good light is a major influence in the images I take. Rain, especially, is not kind to us and even less kind to my equipment. Dogs can also become distinctly uncomfortable leading to unnatural and uneasy poses. If there’s going to be dark clouds or rain, then unfortunately we will have to reschedule. In the event that a session has to be rescheduled, there will be no additional charges.
