Shepherd in Seaford: Poppy’s special mission

Let me introduce you to the awesome Poppy aka Miss Poppy aka Miss Princess Poppy, a beautiful nine-month-old German Shepherd. Poppy came into her dad (Graham’s) life in February this year at eight-weeks-old and has been instrumental in helping him in the grieving process having recently lost a couple of soul mates Miss Charley and Mr Dylan.

I met up with Poppy and Graham on the wonderful beach at Seaford in East Sussex with the wind blowing under an angry sky. Poppy is a stunning looking dog and has no problem taking centre stage and wowing passers-by while she modelled for me.

Poppy is now technically in the adolescent stage of her life and although she is still very puppy like, her body is that of on an adult and she’s totally alert and capable.

Then, every so often, she would revert to a naughty teenager and start munching on my camara bag. This is one of the reasons why I invest in Tamrac professional camera backpacks. If a backpack is going to be dragged down a wet pebble beach by a German Shepherd, it has to be tough right?

If Poppy were human, this would be the stage in her life in which you would hide the car keys!

Personally, and I’m saying this because I’m not Poppy’s owner, I wouldn’t have it any other way! You can see the spirit of fun in her eyes, which I hope she retains in to and throughout her adult life.
